A long update

Whoaaaa!! How long has it been since my last blog? I'm sorry for not blogging for a long time, it's because the "new home" for my blog was not ready yet to be opened for public view. Even now there are still a lot needed to be done, but I'll do them slowly now that I have a lot of free time thanks to my maternity leave.

Yes, I'm on maternity leave already, 2 weeks on already. My house now is a lot more clean and organised. The taps and sinks in my toilet and kitchen are sparkly clean. I've also gone to buy necessary things for the baby from Babies'R'Us. Now we're virtually broke. :D I decided to buy the important things such as the cot (including the mattress), a dresser that goes next to the cot for changing nappies and to store baby stuff, pram (a travel system with the car seat), cot accessories and bedding, some baby clothings, some baby toys, because it's almost Christmas and everybody will shop nearer Christmas time which makes things a lot more hectic than now. Nagi was very attracted to this Winnie the Pooh Starlight Dreamshow, I think the baby might be having some tough competition as with that one. There are still things to buy, but they're not paramount and can wait until the Christmas sale.

The baby room is well underway. Everything is still wrapped in plastic bags, to avoid them from being dusty before their first use. Nagi was persistant in keeping the baby to sleep facing North-South, apparently it's proven to reduce nightmares. Well, from the layout of the baby room, that's just not possible. It's not practical in that small room to make the cot facing North-South. The other solution, which is forcing the baby to sleep facing horizontally in the cot, I consider to be hazardous for the baby because then the baby will have more space to roll over, and I don't think it's worth to try that only for the reason to sleep North-South.

Nagi has been brilliant though. He and Yovita assembled the cot and the cot table and removed a lot of stuff from the small room to make way for the cot and the cot table. He even started to treat his loud snore with "Snoreeze", which had proven its effectivity for the past two days.

I've gained 9 kgs since the start of pregnancy. Now I weigh 54 kgs and still counting. heh heh.. I feel a bit uncomfortable at times because I feel the baby's feet are on my chest already, I wish I'm taller than I am now! I also feel drowsy and tired all the time. Never really felt like that before in my entire life. I mean continous drowsiness, if I close my eyes for two seconds, I could just sleep. Unfortunately sleeping is also another problem. Although I feel sleepy all the time, it doesn't mean I get to sleep more. Finding the comfortable position to sleep is a challenge sometimes.

We had so much fun this weekend, because we saw a lot of old friends. Joe came on Sunday afternoon from Richmond (London), and stayed in Cambridge until Monday night. Dan also drove from Farnborough (near London), while Inge and Marie also came from Norway to see us. Then all of us went to have dinner at Pizza Express with Chris and Caron, which is also pregnant and due end of January, so we caught up and compared notes :D heh heh...

As I said before, the website is now up and running. I will publish some photos in the gallery, so people, start registering if you want to see the private photo albums.

I still don't know what the "theme" for the forum yet. If any of you have any suggestions, please let me know.

I had my midwife appointment yesterday, and things are normal. She also assured us that it's fine for the baby to be travelling even in long-haul flights, as long as while take-off and landing we feed the baby. By "feed" i mean breastfeed, as the baby doesn't eat anything but breastmilk for the first err.. 4 months? 6 months? Something like that. Apparently breastfeeding makes you lose 500 calories per day. Huh??! I hope that won't backfire on me and make me very very skinny! *fingers crossed*
