Thief!

Just heard from Mum today that our house in Semarang got robbed on Tuesday. Three men turned up in a silver sedan while the house is empty, only Mbak Wiwik, the maid was there. It's not usually that quiet, Dad was doing his physio-therapy at the hospital, and Pak Man (the driver) was asked to go somewhere else. The guys told the maid they're to fix the AC. My maid didn't believe them at first, but they looked like gentlemen and one of the guys pretended to make a phone call to my dad's mobile. Then she let them into the terrace. They asked for coffee, my maid said we have no coffee, so they asked for tea. She then boiled some water to make tea. Then while she's doing her business not noticing them, they went inside my mum's room from the window. They must have done it all in 5 minutes, because when my maid wanted to give the tea, they'd already left. Only then she knew they had entered my mum's room thru the window. When she was panicking, my dad came back. She reported everything, and dad went in to check the damage. They took some money from my mum's wallet in the drawer, but there were only about 600,000 rupiahs (less than 50 pounds) in there. Luckily that day my mum didn't keep large amount of money at home. The wallet actually still had a few hundred thousands rupiahs more, but they didn't notice it. My mum's wallet has subsections where she puts 20,000 notes, 50,000 notes and 100,000 notes separately. They didn't take the 100,000 notes! They also took my mum's cash box. I guess they were in a hurry so they didn't open the cash box first. The cash box is very heavy, but it only has overseas coins in there :D They didn't even look properly because on top of the table there were jeweleries lying about. My mum's rings, my dad's ring, watches, etc. That would have set us back at least 10 million rupiahs. All in all, they took only petty cash, including a box full of coins, so we're all feeling very grateful.

However, since they took the cash box, my mum also lost the key to her safe deposit box in the bank (the key was in that box full of coins). That she had to report the bank and the police and the notary and they had to forcefully open the box next Tuesday. That'll cost her around 1.5 million rupiahs. So that's the most expensive thing they took but useless for them.

Apparently the next day there was a similar robbery in Jalan Sisingamangaraja 103. Instead of 3 men there were 6, they also used AC servicing as an excuse, but this time they got more. Handycam, and some million rupiahs worth of jeweleries. Looking at our circumstances, we were very lucky!

My mum told me another sad news this morning. Astrid lost the baby :( I know how much she and her husband had wanted it, and this must have been a big blow for them. I hope she'll be fine and strong. I feel so sorry for her, especially coz I just talked to her the day before yesterday and she was in a good mood talking about the baby and all.. (while i was complaining coz all i feel is nausea, and she didn't get nauseated at all). It makes me scared a little, realising how fragile this tiny creature is.

Nagi cooked some tofu with brocoli yesterday. And oh how unedible that is! Sorry, I know he's trying very hard and had done everything for me lately, but that food is as disgusting as Yovita's burnt seafood. He was very nice though then he went to KFC and get me some chicken and fries (although he was grumpy when I asked him to). I finished it in one go! *big hug.. sorry for being such a nuisance :( *

Back with a vengeance

Turns out that the nausea stopped only during last weekend. Come Monday, I get it all back! *cry* Probably "it" knows it's a weekend, so "it" decided to take a rest. Grr... wait till you come out!!!

Threw up big time last night. Didn't even eat that much during the evening. However the late-night nausea had stopped for about 5 days. Good coz then I sleep better. Apart from Nagi's loud snore and occasional mild nausea during the night (not unbearable), I sleep peacefully.

Nagi's snore used to be easily stopped by me sighing very loud, but lately it's gone more severe I had to wake him up to make it stop! Otherwise it'll just keep going and getting louder every minute.. *loud sigh*

The doctor gave wrong prescription for my folic acid tablets. I'm supposed to take one each day for 7 weeks, but when I went to Tesco Pharmacy, I was only given 7 tablets! That'll get finish in a week! So I called the clinic again today, and the lady in dispensary just laughed looking at my prescription. She said "Who wrote this prescription for you?" Hell, you should know, I thought. Basically they messed up. Now they said they're going to give the remaining 6 week's prescription to Tesco Pharmacy and I should be able to collect it tomorrow. Let's hope they don't make a mess this time.

Today is Joe's and Augustin's birthday. In case you're reading, Happy Birthday to you both. I think I can catch Tin online later in the day on MSN but probably should sms Joe now...

Amazingly gone

The first day I'm actually feeling okay. Haven't been feeling nauseated that much since morning. I'm not going to mention it anymore in case it's appearing soon.

My house is now like a fruit store :D Oranges, papayas, mangoes, apples (3 different kinds) and melon. I have pre-packed fruit juices too. Bought salami milano, honey roasted ham and king prawns for snacks :D Now I'm equipped with kiamboes, some people say it helps to overcome nausea.

I think Nagi has told virtually the whole world about this pregnancy. He emailed everyone in his email list, and for people who has no email connection, he had phoned them! I haven't told my friends yet, apart from the ones who regularly contact me on MSN and Yahoo Messenger. But I have this belief that news travels fast. I only need to tell a couple of people, and the whole world knows :D Saves my energy. Besides, smart, curious people on MSN would realise "heyworld.blogspot.com" is my new nick, and would want to check out what it is, and voila... they'll get the news :p

Almost finish "A step into the past" - that Louis Koo series. On number 33 now (out of 40). I hope it's a happy ending, but it doesn't matter. I'll just imagining I become one of his girlfriend, that would be a better alternative ending for me :D

When's this going to end?

Been suffering the whole day in the office, constantly. About 5 mins break after i had a pear, but that's about it. Nothing helps.

I had an email today that cheered me up:
Psalm 23

The lord is my programmer; I shall not crash.
He installed his software on the hard disk of my heart;
all of his commands are user-friendly. His directory guides me to the right
choices for his name's sake.
Even though I scroll through the problems of life,
I will fear no bugs, for He is my backup.
His password protects me.
He prepares a menu before me in the presence of my enemies.
His help is only a keystroke away.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life,
and my file will be merged with his and saved forever.

I begin to understand how my mum must have felt when she carried me. She said she was nauseous for five months, and she didn't put weight for the first 4 months! I must have been a very naughty baby. Sorry for troubling you, mom.. I guess now I'm having my own taste of medicine.. Listen you in there, do you hear that? I said sorry!! Now can you please stop bothering me with all this nausea? Please.. pleaseeeeeeeee??? *no answer.. no reaction.. no change!*
*sigh*

I heard some women are so lucky they don't feel nauseous at all during their pregnancy. Krithi and Sioe's sis-in-law are amongst them. Nagi claimed it's a Chinese thing. Well Sioe's sis-in-law is Chinese! I think it's probably just my luck. I'm more convinced that it's a karma. It's because I was giving such grief to my mum when she carried me.

Nagi and Yovita better start learning how to cook like professional chefs. SOON. I feel so nauseated I can't cook - I don't even like food smell. Fruits don't smell so they're fine. Drooling is out of my dictionary for sometime now. The only consolation I have is watching Louis Koo while eating. He doesn't make the food taste better, however somehow I can swallow them slowly. I have to keep repeating this series for 9 months, I guess.. (especially during dinner time).

Positively nauseated

Phew.. after a weekend of nail-biting and frustration, the result finally came today. Positively positive, aka definitely pregnant. They wanted a morning sample just to make sure. I'm then automatically registered to a midwife. The doctor prescribed me some folic acid but gave no help to overcome my nausea. He said there's nothing can be done, hinting some people find acupuncture useful. I do not think so! Well first of all I know no acupuncturist, and second of all, needles on my body?? NO WAY :D

The most annoying thing is the nausea. I haven't thrown up yet, so far, however I keep getting it day and night. Worse at nights, like last night, I woke up at 1 am, bad nausea and can't sleep. Sleepy, but too nauseated to sleep. Frustrating, innit? And why do they call it "morning sickness" if i get it all day, all night?

Feeling jealous coz all of my friends are playing grafitti, while I'm stuck here in the office, can't play and still feeling more nauseated. I think it's partly the side-effect of Yovita's cooking yesterday. I didn't feel like cooking yesterday, so she offered to cook. Which is nice of her. However, it turned out to be a disaster! She admits that it's a disaster. She cooked seafood with broccoli. Usually with seafood, no matter how it looks I'd love it. This time it's different. I think i'm getting more fussy.

I dunno why Astrid's doctor gave her some vitamin to strengthen her womb, coz yesterday the doctor only said he'd give vitamin, B12 specifically, if I'm a vegetarian/vegan. Apart from folic acid, he's not willing to give anything. I am not at all complaining :p

And that slogan "now you're eating for two" is _wrong_. Doctor said, I should eat only for myself. The baby is like a parasite which will suck all the nutrients it needs. I don't need to eat more just because I'm pregnant. That's good coz with all this nausea day and night, eating has become a major problem.

What's funny now is I love fruits. Been having apples and pears and papayas. I like them more than seafood at the moment! Those who know me would understand how strange that previous statement is.

All and all, I'm happy, first of all I finally find an excuse for this troubling nausea, and second of all, there's a baby coming! I have two friends who's pregnant around the same month as me too, Astrid and Sheena. I think they both should deliver their respective babies just before me though. It's good, I have friends to talk and compare notes :p

New treasures

Nagi came back from Singapore yesterday. Picked him up from the bus station. Yesterday was the first time I didn't go to the church in ages because I wasn't feeling very well at all.

Got 3 new series: A step into the past (Louis Koo, I'm going to watch you everyday now! hihihihihi...), Golden Faith (Gallen Lo), and DGSD (Felix Wong as XF). I'm going to start watching them in that order :D

Cakes (bread talk's cheese cake - the only cheese cake I like; and lapis legit) are stored in the fridge, waiting for me to finish it. hihi.. also some clamshells (looks good, haven't tried it), and some other snacks.

My prediction was correct, China brought home both Thomas and Uber Cup. Denmark lost to China in Thomas Cup final, 3-1. I still hope we could win gold in the Olympic.

Just like Cathy, I'm also addicted to Grafitti :D It's like playing pictionary but online.. reminds me of all those laughs we had when me and the gang used to hang out all night playing board games. How I missed those nights.. :(
We have to play it more often, especially on weekends I suppose coz otherwise finding the right time for everybody is going to be a bit tricky.

Weekend summary

A disastrous Thomas Cup performance by the Indonesian team. This is the first time in 10 years that Indonesia didn't go to the final. For 10 years in a row Thomas Cup has been in our hand, now look what happened. We lost to Denmark in semifinal! How embarassing is that? *cry*
We lost graciously (3-2), but still, could have done much better. The doubles were hopelessly weak. Come on guys, we should get the cup back next time!!

It's the final today, China v Denmark. Lost interest on it already. Sky didn't even broadcast the event :( Probably coz England's not in it :p
Thankfully I have Cathy who's giving live commentary on msn. :D

Oh there was no hope in getting the Uber cup either. I think this year China will have both Thomas and Uber Cups.. :(

Had a filling lunch yesterday. Went to Charlie Chan, ordered 4 types of dimsum a main course and fishball soup (big bowl) :D hehe.. Felt like treating myself (and Yovita).

Eurovision Song Contest yesterday night. I begin to wonder how the Europeans' taste of music has gone.. hmm.. weird. All the top songs are.. hmm.. dance song. The winner is Ukraine which performed a song which was just an ordinary dance song, but the girl was wearing a leather Xena type of outfit, with the boys wearing similar outfits, and danced like mad. I thought the Dutch were good, but they didn't get decent point. UK didn't get nil point this time! James Fox, a former Fame Academy student, performed better than Jemini duo last year, but not good enough to gain votes. I'm telling ya, James needs to be on black PVC or skimpy leather suit, dancing like mad, if he wants to get more points. Don't worry about the song. Any song will do. No need to lose the guitar either :p

Shocking news on Friday, which might have huge impact on my travelling schedule to Indonesia in December. We'll see...

More alarm conspiracy

Last night I set my alarm clock up at 6:30. Now u'd expect probably I'd wake up by the sound of the alarm, or at least like yesterday, 6am, right? Wrong. Something definitely woke me up at 5:30!!! Thankfully I was able to go back to sleep after that. Still I was up at 6:15 BEFORE the alarm. Probably I have to lose this alarm, coz it's getting very annoying, but I'm sure as soon as I do that, I won't wake up at all! hihi.. I have no confidence in me whatsoever when it comes to waking up in the morning :D I have to say it's surprising lately I've been waking up so early! I blame the hidden inner body clock.. or.. hmm.. this is more scientific this time... I think it's the light. Lately it's been bright and sunny since 5:30 in the morning (well.. i haven't woken up before that, so it might have been bright and sunny before 5:30.. heh heh..). Probably my eyes are so sensitive to light, that even when they're closed, they KNOW it's already bright outside, hence they command the brain "Hey it's time to wake this stupid girl up!!".

Sorry if my blog's content has been blabberish. But it's MY blog :p Get used to it :p

Oh and today's Zheng's birthday, i did not forget :p Happy birthday to you.. happy birthday to you.. happy birthday dear a zheng.. happy birthday to you... (see I sing!) :p

Alarm conspiracy

Lately I've been finding myself waking up too early in the morning. I usually set the alarm clock (i.e. the built-in alarm in my mobile phone, coz i don't have an actual alarm clock) at about 7am. What i found is I woke up without hearing the alarm, looked at the clock, and it's exactly 2 mins before 7. If it happens only once or twice, it's ok. It's been happening way too often, i find it freaky. And now it's getting worse. This morning I woke up at 6am!! Damn, what's wrong with my brain? Does it not get the idea of an alarm? Or, maybe, the alarm wakes me up with a silent wave to my brain, and just to annoy me, it does it 2 mins before the time I specifically tell it to do, or even worse, 1 hour before! How cruel! Ppl who know me understand how I appreciate my beauty sleep. Or, hmm.. now this is more plausible. I have a built-in clock in my body, and it's doing a race with the alarm! *yes.. yes.. that could be why..*

Oh yesterday the Sky engineer come to fix the problem. He took a minute to assess it, plugged his funky tool to the end socket where the signal's supposed to go to the box, mumbled a bit, then went outside. He came back with a new sky digibox! He plugged everything to the box, and voila... u guessed it right. It works! Then he made phone call to Sky to send the right channels according to my subscription, did a little bit of test, and that's it. "Sign here, and here, please..." So I did. I asked what's wrong with the old box. He said "Dunno, but the system's stuck on standby, by the looks of it". Anyway, now I have a new sky digibox, it's black in colour (my old one is silver). Most importantly, now I can watch TV! Just in time for Friends' 3rd last episode tonight. *dance*

my dear, are you all right
didn't realize it's already three years since the last I went home
a quiet life, is it like usual ?
please take care of your body, don't be too busy

my dear, listen to my words
the food in your fridge, if too old then don't eat them
going out at night, wear more clothes
if you miss me then give me a call

mama, do you know
my life nowadays is quite all right
all my friends are dependable
all says truthful words
please don't worry for me

mama, do you know
a child leaving home, has complicated feelings
because want to struggle to the top
but when tired wants to go home to hide
really hoping to forever not grow old

returning to old days' embrace
becoming your little doll again
my dearest mother

I really miss my Mommy.. Especially coz I know she's alone at home, Dad and Zita are in Singapore. I called her this morning, I think I haven't called her as much as I should have.

I also found out about the immigration in Semarang Airport. Apparently yes, you have to go through immigration. The process is smooth from Semarang to Singapore, but from Singapore to Semarang is still a bit messy. They'd open all your luggage etc since the x-ray device is still not ready! *shocked*...

It's my day off today, currently waiting for the SKY engineer to come and fix that satellite signal problem. Hopefully he can fix it today itself so I can watch TV tonight. Hmm.. better not put my hopes too high.

Semarang - Singapore

Just found out last week that now you can fly from Semarang to Singapore direct. Apparently it's old news, about two months old.

The flights from Semarang to Singapore are every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, whilst from Singapore to Semarang every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Four times a week! That's good enough for now.

What I don't get is, that doesn't mean that A Yani airport gets international status automatically. How do ppl pay fiscal etc? No immigration to go to Singapore? *very confused*

I must ask Zita or Dad later about this. This is certainly a good news :D

Monday, May 10

My first blog

It's Monday again..
I have to tell you what happened on Friday evening. Nagi's gone to Singapore, SKY digital stopped working (yep that means NO TV until Wednesday when the engineer comes to _try_ to fix it), the Jehova's witness knocked on my door on Saturday, and surprise surprise.. I did not win the lotto! :( After all those unlucky series of events, I thought winning the lottery would have been nice.. but hey.. life goes on..

It was overall an extremely dull weekend.
Except the news from Fazal that Sheena's pregnant!! *congratulations man!* Oh I need to reply his email now :D

However, good news this morning: Zita's got a job!! *woo hoo* She's very lucky. Landed in Singapore on Sunday morning, got a job offer on Monday afternoon! Congratulations, sis! *big hug*

I'll post more when I know what to do with this blog..

***

Monday evening...
Johan suggested www.blogskins.com to get good skins. Some of them did look very cool. I did and tried on a couple of good ones, but apparently Blogger had just added new features that some of the features (including comments) doesn't work with those skins. I decided to use the puppies one, just to annoy Zita when she sees this page :D I know how much she loves puppies.. I'm waiting (anxiously) for her to see it.. heh heh.. Just joking, I think this is the cutest I've seen. Saw pink mashimaro too.. but that's a bit too pink :D

I had to modify the width of one of the picture to cover up the ads completely.

Then Zheng came to the rescue. He brilliantly modified my template so I can use the puppies template with the new blogger features. Four thumbs up for Zheng! :D *feeling very grateful* Now my blog looks sooo cuteeee :D

Since TV is still not working, I had to find something else to do tonight. Luckily Will reminded me of this Viridian Room (aka Crimson Room, The Sequel), that he sent last week.. but I completely forgotten all about it. So I've been playing that....still playing... oh!! And now it's finished!!! Took me one and a half hour! I got tired and bored half the way and decided to write this blog, then went off and finished it :D *about time!*
