Monster trucks

Last Friday, after a hard day's work, I dropped in at my neighbour's for the very first time. Monica visits 'Ritu' almost on a daily basis but I never even had a chance to quickly say 'hello' to either Ritu or Manish, her husband. I had the opportunity to see Agastya right next to Risa, Ritu's daughter.

My son was tall, powerfully built and looked like [Bhima] in front of that little girl. He is mighty jealous, every time I even thought of picking up Risa, he would run from where ever he was and annoy me to pick him up. Even if by some chance Risa comes walking toward me, Aga would run toward me not caring much for anything or anyone in his way. He was just awesome.

The next day, Saturday, we decided to take the little monster to the beech. It was shortly after lunch, a balmy 30 degrees; not too hot but not mild in anyway. I drove to [Portsea] in a leisurely pace and it was an hour and a half before we reached our destination. Aga had been sleeping all along in his car seat and Monica was dozing off nicely once in a while. After briefly struggling to find a parking space, we slapped some sun screen on Aga and took him to the water front.

Me: Monica, do you want the stroller?
Monica: Yes man! We need it, we have everything in there.
Me: Hmm, ok.

I take one look at the soft white sand ….

Me: Monica, I think it is a bad idea, too much soft sand.
Monica: It is only sand Nuggie, it will be very light without Aga in it.
Me: Oh.. Ok, doesn’t seem right.
Monica: Look at the other strollers in the sand, many kids there!!
Me: Oh yes, but they are tiny compared to the bullock cart we have over here.
Monica: Just bring it Nuggiiee, I will push it.

It took Monica a full 5 seconds to realise the idea was bad. As usual, the donkey does the hard work and without much ado, the stroller pushing job landed on me without a word passing between the two of us.

Monica: Heh heh heh heh ..
Me: Shut up!!
Monica: It is difficult Nuggie.
Me: Hello!! What did I say in the first place? Stoopid Indonesian.
Monica: Kek kek kek kek. Bloody Indian.

I removed Aga's clothes and put on his blue swimming trunks. He looked awesome. The water did not look inviting, at least from his view point. I knew it would be a problem. I took him into the water and with his back facing the waves, made him stand on the shallow end. He felt uncomfortable but he always knows where his help is located. As long as I hold him, he never looks or worries about anything. He, perhaps, instinctively feels that if I had just one finger on him, he will always be in safe territory. I started splashing the water all about. He joined in quickly. He suddenly turned into a maniac, dragged me in to even deeper water without me having to prod him. He enjoyed the waves knocking him off into the water. He liked the salty water; he downright enjoyed making himself dirty by rubbing sea weed or sand on his body. He would suddenly stand up and shout magical words and run away from the water towards those sand castles other kids were building.

As if he is a Hindu priest, he would splash water on his head and mumble. He would grab sand and rub on his tummy and sprinkle on his head. He would eat sand and he was totally happy that neither I nor Monica conditioned him much. For us it was a monotonous hour and a half, for him it was heaven. We decided an hour and a half was good enough. We washed him up and decided to head back home. Even on the way back he was yapping about probably describing to us what all he did and complaining how big fools his parents were not to join him in the fun. For close to an hour he would not stop. He was just happy.

We were about 10 mins away from our Wheelers Hill home and Aga made unhappy noises. We didn't know why and so long as he doesn’t say explicitly we would never know for certain. Although he does not yet speak words as we adults do, he is very much vocal about everything around him. He can have a great conversation with anyone; he doesn't care that we don't understand what the heck he is yapping about. He speaks. He can express happiness, sadness, surprise, anger etc. very effectively. All kids do, I am sure.

Anyway, Aga continued to make those unhappy sounds and slowly and steadily he kept leaning towards Monica. He is in his car seat and can't leave! I could feel him wanting to run away from his seat. He was frantically locating Monica's hands. He kept looking on the window to his left and searching for Monica on his right with his hand movements. Then we realised what it was. HE IS AFRAID OF TRUCKS!! Monster trucks with huge, loud engines scare him. He is afraid of vacuum cleaners and blenders. Anything that makes those monotonous noises for seemingly no reason scares him. I quickly moved away from the truck and he was once again happy and doing his Balle Balle.

We have a mouse in our house; a very clever mouse I should say. He is there everywhere we set our eyes – except in the place where we have a mouse trap waiting for him. Bastard!!

You bloody Dope !!

Ok, like the previous time, one Indian weightlifter failed the dope test. "Not funny" you will shout. But in Manchester 2002, 4 years ago, one Indian {a weightlifter} failed the doping test and he actually was ranked 7th. I can't dream up a fool who would necessitate performance enhancing drugs only to finish 7th!!!

This time in Melbourne 2006, the story was like chalk and cheese. Some bastard failed the drug test and apparently did not even get to round two!!!

Anyway, as of today, India are ranked 3rd in the medals tally just as I predicted.

1. Australia
2. England
3. India
4. Canada

Two more days to go, hopefully India will hold on to its "bronze" position and repeat what it did in Manchester 2002. It only gets better; I reckon India will be number 2 in New Delhi 2010!!! I am absolutely certain of that.

Busy teething

Agastya has had his first molars almost fully grown now, all four of them (two on the top and two on the bottom), which is fairly early as far as I know. I remember I saw a glimpse of them two months ago, and they sprung out at approximately the same time. This morning I saw a little development on the left top cuspid (canine) tooth!! I looked at the right top side, there's a buldge too. No wonder he kept chewing on Nagi's shoulders and my thighs. Heh heh. No wonder also this past 2 days he had been waking up earlier than his normal schedule. Little rascal :D

This is probably due to overload of milk/milk products. Normally he has 2 little tubs of yoghurt, 1 serving of milk with his cereal, 3-5 little cubes of cheese (oh he loves cheese, and he could even repeat the word 'cheese' with me ;) ), and 2 bottles of formula milk in the night (one just before he goes to sleep, and one just before I retired). I am happy with his growth and this is a sign that I am doing a good job as a mother. Feeling like I deserve some stars..

Sleeping disturbance

This morning at 5 am I heard a loud noise. Garbage truck collecting household waste. Yes. That early at 5 am. Making Agastya wake up and can't go back to sleep. Making his mommy tired and cannot go to sleep while he's sleeping this afternoon because it's too hot! I'm pissed off.

I thought I was going to write a long blog, but turned out very short, because brain is dead. I'm going to sleep early tonight.

Wet prepaid voucher

I did my laundry this morning, and I forgot I put the prepaid voucher I bought just yesterday in my trousers pocket. When I realised it was already half an hour in washing, and the trousers and the voucher were soaking wet! The precious little paper still have some numbers in it which I can make out (you really need some intelligent guess for that too), but there were two numbers which are badly damaged that even intelligent guesses wouldn't do.

The first reaction was to try a few numbers, and failed. After thinking aloud while trying to calm screaming Agastya (because mommy was ignoring him for quite a while now - salvaging the soaking wet vouchers from the pants, panickly try to punch some numbers, by now he's getting agitated), I called Coles (where I got the voucher from) to check if they would have the record. Unfortunately no, it's just an automated system thingy, anyway, no record. Argh! Then, what to do? The only thing left to do is to try the combinations. There are 9 digits and just 2 numbers, so the combination is.. Hmm.. I don't know, my brain can't think. But shouldn't be too much, compared to if I have to guess all 10 numbers, no?! Besides, the second number had a round top. So it cannot be 1,4,5 or 7. That ruled out some combinations already.

Turned out the first number was 7, and the second number was 3. Geeeeeeeez.. That took about half an hour! Oh, by this time Agastya was happy because I gave him a tub of yoghurt.

Aga phone home

Finally, after more than a month waiting, we got our telephone line connected. It's quite annoying not having a house phone, because people from overseas get charged a lot when calling us on the mobiles, and vice versa.

I had to wait for the Optus guy this morning to connect the phone so I did not go to Ritu's house. I forgot to tell her that I was not coming today too. The Optus guy came at around 11. When I was showing the guy all the phone sockets in the house, Ritu was standing there on the door with Risa on her hand and Lakshay had already gone inside. Ritu asked if she could leave Lakshay with me while she's bathing Risa. Of course I said yes.

Unsurprisingly the job took very long. The Optus guy had to make sure that it did not cut the broadband connection too. I was just too busy feeding Agastya and trying to entertain Lakshay at the same time. At one time when the guy entered the house again, he asked if I was Chinese because I looked one so he said. I said no, I'm Indonesian. He asked if I was a Chinese Indonesian and I said yes. Btw, he's Chinese himself. Then he asked whether I were a nanny. I said no, this is my son (pointing at Agastya). Then he looked so surprised and said that I look very young to have a son. Luckily he said 'a son' so at least he understood that Lakshay is not my boy. Otherwise that would have been a very big shock for him, huh? I just smiled, thinking probably I looked young because of the Winnie the Pooh PJ I was wearing. He then asked how old I was. I said 27 then he said "Wow, really? You look like a teenager!" I cursed the pink Winnie the Pooh PJ.

The guy left at 1, so it took around 2 hours for this phone to be connected. The first person I called was my mom, using the phone card, obviously.

I got crossed when I found out he had moved the bed to reach the phone connection in the bedroom. The fact that I knew the bed had been moved means he had not put it back to the right place! How annoying, since the bed is quite heavy and I have all this cushions so that Agastya doesn't bang his head while sleeping.

Lakshay got bored and he left. I tried my best to prevent him from leaving but to no avail. I quickly called Ritu to check if he had gone back. Ritu told me this incident where Lakshay was lost at Chadstone so I had a reason to be worried. Ritu said he's home, so all ends well.

Yesterday when I was at Ritu's, she cooked bread soaked in milk and cheese and fried it. It was very nice, Agastya seemed to enjoy it very much. Risa (Ritu's little girl who's just 5 days younger than Aga) did not like it and kept spitting it out. Ten minutes later, we noticed Risa kept scratching her face and neck. I asked Ritu if it's some kind of allergic reaction. Ritu said it could be, because it was the second time she gave Risa eggs, and the first time was very very long ago. Risa is also allergic to peanuts, and she showed similar reactions when that happened. Ritu started to panic. Me too. Probably I would have panicked even more had it been Agastya who had the reactions. I kept looking at Agastya just to check if he's alright. He was happy and no reactions seen. Thank God for that.

Ritu rubbed some cream on Risa's face and neck, and I could see this poor little girl was not feeling comfortable, can't keep her hands off her face and neck. Kept scratching and oh it was all read and spotty! Ritu took her outside, but it was not getting any better. She called her husband and her husband asked her to give Risa some cough medicine because it normally has antihistamine in it. When Ritu found out that all her cough medicines had expired, I quickly went home and took mine over. I had to bring Agastya home at that time because it was lunch time, and Ritu had decided to put Risa to sleep, so I just went home after telling her to knock on my door if she needed anything.

A few hours later I called and Ritu said the reactions on the face and neck seemed to be fading away but she didn't realise that Risa got the reactions on the stomach and thighs too, but they are fading away too. I saw Risa today and she seemed okay. Oh poor thing, must have been very uncomfortable!

A classic from Joe da beech

Almost forgot, mi mate Joe put this one across during his jaunt to Australia a few months ago and I thought it was more than just witty. Worth sharing, may be ..

Q: What is the difference between George Bush Jr. and a bucket full of shit ?
A: Absolutely nothing but for the bucket itself !

Commonwealth games, Melbourne 2006

Ok, excepting the pyrotechnics, it was all crap I think – The grand opening ceremony of the Commonwealth games, Melbourne 2006. That was the first time since I landed up here I had watched the telly and that too for more than 2 hours in a row. The lighting was magnificent, it was really first-rate. With the MCG on the banks of the river Yarra, it wouldn't have been appropriate for the City of Melbourne to hold this opening ceremony any place else.

I could see the games torch being carried by AFL {Australian Football League} players one after the other for over an hour and I knew none of them. I speculate if any non-Australian would have appreciation for any of those "so called" Aussie heroes. To be rational, I not knowing them belittles not a bit of their accomplishments. However, I could envision the billion or so people watching the telly all over the world marvel at the 100s of ex-Australian Olympic or Commonwealth games champions who could have carried the torch one after the other.

Unlike India, Australia has won thousands of medals in these games and I am confident all they need to do is look within the city of Melbourne for ex-champs. Nonetheless, it matters none now. The queen [Oh !! My queen], Her Majesty, was swept off her feet with a clever rendition of "Happy 80th Birthday to you" ending with "God Save the Queen". Well, I *know* she was on cloud nine after that. Up to that point, she was feeling queasy with Johnny Howard sitting next to her and looking desperately dispassionate over much of the proceedings. May be the evening burritos were making her stomach churn a bit. Uncomfortable, I know..

To make matters worse, I reckon, at one time Johnny Boy almost got up and started cheering for one of the troupe entering the stadium mistaking them for his own team, the prodigious Aussies - only to realise that the flag bearer was carrying a flag akin to his own but belonging to his arch nemesis, the team from across the Tasman sea. I hope the Kiwis had fun watching that.

The queen got up, in her aristocratic English read out what her secretary had expertly prepared, declared the Melbourne 2006 games open. Wallah !!

Over the 11 days of games, I think the top 5 tally will look like this. [total medals, not gold]

1.Australia
2.England
3.India / Canada
4.Canada / India
5.South Africa

Ok, 10 highpoints of the ceremony:

1.They raised the Indian Flag! Woo hoo. [next commonwealth games holder]
2.They raised the English Flag! Woo hoo. [previous games holder]
3.The pyrotechnics were just extraordinary, ok – no contest here. Better than anything I have seen, ever.
4.Melbourne looked like a fine, glamourous city for once.
5.Johnny boy came to the MCG thinking it was a day night clash between India and Australia. Had a shock when he saw the Queen in the same ground and then slowly realised what was happening after all.
6.Johnny mumbled his way through the Australian national anthem.
7.Australia, England, Canada, South Africa and India had the largest contingents. {not necessarily in that order}.
8.The youngest contestant is a 13 year old boy entering the Table Tennis competition. He can barely see the Table, apparently!!
9.Monica justifiably stayed away from the telly and chatted away on the internet with her millions of friends.
10. A total of 71 countries form the Commonwealth.

Update on swimming hysteria

Agastya, me and Anita went to the swimming pool today. I went to a different one just to get a different atmosphere from before, and I thought maybe this new place would bring more luck to me.

It's a bigger pool with some shallow pool. The lessons are done in deeper pool (deep enough only for the mums to be able to stand holding the child), so I thought probably he'll be more comfortable in the shallow pool.

At first, (a recommendation from Ram) I held him in my arms with his feet in the pool (sitting on the edge of the first step). He was feeling uneasy and wanting to go. I asked Anita to dip in. That made him interested because it looked like Anita was having fun. Of course Anita exagerrated a little bit :p

Then I went a step further. Deeper but still below waist for him. Feeling uneasy again. I asked Anita to grab one of the bath toys I brought from home. It worked like a charm. Then I could grab him and slowly move to the middle!! Before I knew it, he was enjoying the whole thing. Making lots of splish splash and everything. Wow!!! Not even a single tear drop today!!! Not one scream of fear and anxiety, only screams of excitement :D And afterwards, Anita pointed out that he was the cutest baby in the pool :D Of course, I replied. He's the cutest baby in the whole wide world! No contest!

Wag n wiggle

Oh this song just can't get out of my head! It has become my favourite song the past 2 days, I keep singing it even when I was about to go to sleep. It's there in my head, what can I do? So catchy! If you don't know what I mean, it's one of The Raggs' songs. Pawwsuppp everybodyyy!!!!!

Do you wanna wag and wiggle all the day?
Do you wanna wag and wiggle all the day?
Do you wanna wag and wiggle
Zig n' zag n' jiggle
Do you wanna wag and wiggle all the day?

Gonna wag
Gonna wag
Gonna wag our cares away
All it takes to make us giggle
Is a waggle and a wiggle
Do you wanna wag n' wiggle all the day?

Dental care

One of my mates in England asked if I have dental care provided by my company here in Australia. When I answered in the negative and further added that I have to even pay for my own health insurance, he was totally surprised.

Come on, why would I hanker after dental care from NEC ? I and my family have free, 7 star dental care for life and if I wanted my caps in Gold all I need to do is fart !! Well, ok .. it would cost me one return trip ticket to Indonesia, but in point of fact, must I nitpick when it comes with a holiday ? :-). I get unlimited ginger tea and pisang goreng, Drool !

All things are fine. Monica and Aga are doing well. He is currently being the tot he is and getting impish by the day. He is very much partial to my Uncle Ram with my cousin Anita, perhaps, a close second. Monica is having a tough time handling the little rascal all through the day. However, I am sure she has more fun on any given day than I possibly do.

Photos, I promise, next week.

Swimming hysteria

There are two things (so far) that Agastya is scared of.
1. Swimming pool.
2. Blender.

I took him to a swimming lesson for the first time on Tuesday, and what a nightmare it was. Morningmare, really. He cried nonstop and inconsolably for the whole half-an-hour session, and even still sobbing afterwards. Since then, he's very easy to get upset and cry. When I took him outside to hang clothes, he usually enjoyed it because he can play on the grass, and it's sunny too. But no, crying crying crying. Nonstop until I took him inside. When I used blender to mince his food, he cried. Usually he'll just stay in the travel cot until I finish cooking with few pappadums in hand, but this time no. This is the second blender hysteria I've experienced. It was the same yesterday too, but I thought it was just a one-off thing. I do need to blend the meat because he still can't chew that well yet, so I really at wits end. Even after I finish with the blender, he still did not let me go to the kitchen just to finish my cooking or wash the dishes. He has never been like this and it has started to annoy me.

Some of you might say "Let him cry, so what?" but I can't. The most irritating bit is he usually throws up after a cry like that. Which is alarming if he does very often. Besides, a loud crying toddler is not a pretty sight, believe me.

If this goes on until Sunday then I might decide to go back to Indonesia where I can get lots of hands to help. Will keep you all posted.

Raider of the lost keys

You wouldn't believe what happened this evening! I was just taking Agastya for a walk in the stroller as usual, when I heard some baby noises from the next door house. We know the next door house has a baby girl 1 week younger than Agastya, so I thought I'd come and give them a visit since they're in a playful mood. Nagi was just preparing to pick up Ram from the airport. Nagi came to the next door house (where me and Agastya were) and asked if I had the key, since he's leaving. I said I am, but I have to take Agastya's shoes (since he was inside the pram, I didn't put the shoes on for him, but then he's playing so I wanted him to have his shoes). The shoes were inside the car. Using the key that I had, I picked up the shoes and put them on his feet. Then Nagi left. Before he left, Nagi said he's going to leave the car at Ram's house and take Ram's car instead, because we have the child seat in the car and probably won't be enough to carry all his luggage.

I was there chatting at the next door neighbour house until about 8, when I thought it's time for Agastya to go to sleep. He didn't look sleepy, but I was insisting anyway. Then at the front door, I searched for the keys in my pocket. Surprise surprise, they're not there! Where could they be??

I went back to the neighbour's house to search for it, holding Agastya in my arm and leaving the pram in front of my house. I didn't recall I took the keys out of my pocket and leave it there, but I just had to be sure about it. The keys were nowhere to be found. Then it hit me. I must have left the keys in the car when I was taking his shoes! I quickly called Visali, asking if Nagi had left the car there and if the keys were in the backseat of the car. The car was there (thank goodness), and surely enough, the keys were there! Now come the problem. How am I going to get the keys? Nagi had took Preeti, the only designated driver in that house after Ram left. Visali has a license, but she doesn't drive even to the corner shop. While I was talking to her and she was checking if the keys were there, I was contemplating in asking the next door neighbour guy to go to Visali's place to pick up the key, whether or not it was too much, afterall we had not really been very close. Funnily enough, after learning that the keys were in the backseat of the car, Visali didn't even think twice in saying "I'll drop it there". Having to choose between asking Visali's help and asking the neighbour's help, I'd choose Visali's, just because I'm more comfortable with her.

I was feeling guilty because it was Agastya's bed time (although he wasn't complaining because he had lots of companies there), but still, you know, it's all because of my stupid mistake. Because of this also I had to ask Visali, who has problems in driving cars, to drive a car she had never driven before (our car), and drop the keys off. That too I had to trouble the neighbour because I had to prolong my stay in that house. It was a bit nippy outside so staying outside my house with Agastya was definitely a no no. They were very nice though, Ritu (the next door lady), and the family. They even gave me dinner! (Which I had just barely touched it when Visali and Anita arrived. They packed my dinner for me. I told them I had my dinner, but they didn't believe it. It's true though!

Well I finally got the keys back, and Visali got to her home safely. Agastya went to bed almost immediately after he finished his milk, bless him! Thanks to all my heroes, Visali mostly (all thumbs and toes and paws up for her, well done!), Ritu and family for their extended hospitality, Anita (for accompaniying Visali), and curse me, please.

A typical day

Since a lot of people had asked "Monica, what do you do everyday? Do you just play with him all day?" like I have nothing better to do, I think I'd post a typical day if I'm staying at home with Agastya the whole day.

He usually wakes up between 7:00-8:00. Then it's breakfast time for him, then I'll have breakfast for myself. That usually finishes around 9:00. While having breakfast, we usually watch The Rugrats and In The Box, both on channel 10. He has his breakfast on the high chair.

I usually change his nappy after he finishes breakfast, because if he had not poo just after he wakes up, then he'll poo around this time.

After that it's run-around-making-mommy-tired time. He's just one busy bunny. At about 9:30 I usually give him a slice of cheese. I don't put him on high chair for treats and snacks like this.

Then back to run-around-making-mommy-tired time. In the mean time, I have to also cook for his lunch and dinner, and mine too. I do that around 10:30. He'll be inside the travel cot (which is full of toys) and he'll be playing happily all by himself. Sounds too good eh, indeed. Of course not. He wouldn't like being put in there. However I have mastered the trick. Savoury biscuits. If that still doesn't work, then pappadums :D So I'll always have some biscuits or pappadums ready next to me while cooking. Otherwise he'll be crying asking me to pick him up.

Cooking doesn't last very long. At the most 30 minutes. I usually pick him up when I've finished washing up the utensils. While waiting for lunch time, it's run-around-making-mommy-tired again, what else.

Lunch time at 12:00. His clockwork amazes me and it's good because it's a routine which I understand. Put him in his high chair, and start feeding him the food I prepared earlier. Usually it's steamed veggies with rice, dhal or tofu and some mince meat. (If you don't know what dhal is, it's some kind of lentils. If you don't know what tofu is, get a life.)

He'll only finish his food half an hour later, and need entertainment while eating. This includes putting most of his toys that aren't too big to be put on the high chair. If this one is boring then get another one, and so on and so forth. It's better than me having to chase him around the place for eating. Some moms prefer that way, I just don't have that much energy on me to do that. Remember all that run-around-making-mommy-tired time we had already?

After food, guess what he'll do? Oh yes, unmistakably, it's run-around-making-mommy-tired time! In between I'll have my lunch, and I'll put him inside the travel cot again, while feeding him either my food or savoury biscuits. The run-around-making-mommy-tired time will last until about 1:30, that's when his energy level had gone down a notch, and he'll give in to go to sleep. He'll sleep for anything between 1-2 hours, which is also time for me to catch some breath and sleep next to him, or if I'm not that sleepy (it's difficult sometimes to go to sleep although I'm very sleepy) then I'll go online checking my email and chat with some friends. I need some adult conversations. That is conversations with adults, by the way, in case anyone has some other things in mind. Or if the house looks very messy which usually does, then I'll clean up.

Between 3:00-3:30, he'll be up again, and back to run-around-making-mommy-tired business. Afterall he had just recharged his energy level to full power!!! In between running around I give him yoghurt (which he likes very much) and banana or papaya. Again, I don't put him on the high chair for this. High chair is only for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

At 4:30 is bath time. He enjoys his bath and never complains. If he hasn't pooed at earlier in the afternoon, then he usually pooes around this time.

The run-around lasts until dinner time, which is 5:00, for half an hour approximately. Then back to you-know-what. Then when it's not too hot which will be around 6:30-7:00 and if it's not raining, I'll take him for a walk with the stroller. It works wonders because he'll be sleepy during this time and by the time we come back, it's milk time and then bed time. He usually has his milk around 7:30 then sleep by 8:00. Sometimes it takes him one hour to go to sleep, but by 8:30 at the latest he'll be asleep. Then it's time for me to sterilise bottles and prepare for his next milk (he'll have another milk at around 11, then nothing until he wakes up in the morning). After all chores finished, then only I can go online, reply to email, chat more and blog, if I still have some energy left on me.

I actually prefer not spending the whole day in the house like this. I'll be even more tired, but happier. That's why I like the playgroup session on Wednesday afternoon, and I've enrolled him on swimming lesson, which will commence next week on Tuesday morning.

Update on the nappy crisis:

It's not so much of a problem now, I think I get used to the normal diaper now, instead of the pull-up type. Also during the nights he only drinks 2 batches of milk instead of 3, so I just have to change his nappy just before I go to bed around 11, and it will last until morning when he wakes up. Charming.
