Agastya's first day of school!
Yes, earlier than most kids I suppose, but I just want him to have a lot of friends in Semarang, or at least have some sort of social touch with other kids. I enrolled him to Kiddieland, a Montessori school, in a toddler class of 20 little devils.
We both walked to school because Kiddieland is literally just around the corner, which is handy because I saw the localised traffic jam created by parents who dropped their kids off using cars. Agastya was a bit upset at first seeing that his grandpa and grandma didn't come with him strolling, but quickly recovered because he enjoyed walking. When we arrived at the school, he was quickly greeted by one of the teachers, Miss Puspa, and instantly he befriended with her. He obeyed when she told him to take off his shoes, and put the shoes on the shoe rack. He also grabbed his school bag (as told by Miss Puspa) and put the bag in the bag rack. I followed behind (it's his first day so I guess I was allowed to go inside, otherwise I am not allowed to), and saw he sat down on a mattress with two other kids who were already in there. He didn't cry, and didn't even look around to find me. I was soooooooooooo proud.
I went to the administration office to sort some documentations (providing details of his immunisations, etc.), then waited for a while trying to listen from outside if he was crying. He has a loud voice so I knew I could hear him if he was. But nothing. I saw Miss Puspa came outside to greet other kids who had just arrived, and I asked her if Agastya was crying or looking for me. She said no, and added that he quickly adjusted to his new environment and already had guts to snatch another kid's toys! That's my boy.. heh heh.. Mommy so prouuuuuuddd..
