Good boy daddy.
Have you ever had the feeling that you were being taken for a ride by someone much younger than you but were powerless to stop it?
Well, in my case the "much younger" happens to be approximately 30 years younger.
Opa Ram is the "go-to" guy at the weekends and Aga absolutely adores him. In fact, although Aga does not yet understand the concept of weekdays and weekends, from Monday onwards Aga would "request" for Opa Ram every now and then and this would continue until Saturday morning when Aga finally gets to see Opa Ram.
Opa Ram was busy doing his stuff at the computer and my little monkey had a go at the design work Opa Ram was involved in. Aga kept pushing "random" buttons on the key board and Opa Ram strictly told Aga that he cannot push buttons without asking him first.
It so happened, the next day, I was busy gathering cricket scores on the computer. Aga walks up to me and ...
Aga: Daddy, you should ask me first, ok ? {and pushes the Esc key}
I: Ok, Aga.
Aga: Good boy daddy.
{waits for 2 seconds}
Aga: Daddy, you should ask me first, ok ? {and pushes the Ctrl key}
I: Ok, Aga.
Aga: Good boy daddy.
{waits for a few seconds}
Aga: Daddy, you should ask me first, ok ? {and pushes random buttons}
Without me saying Yes or Ok, he tells me "Good boy daddy" and continues with his random keying.
Then it occured to me. This monkey decided to press buttons on the key board but certainly did not want to be told off. So, he comes up with a "seemingly" valid excuse: "Teaching his father etiquette on how to use the key board !!!".
So, I turn to him and ...
I: Bloody fool, trying to trick me huh ?
Aga: {Monstrously laughing} Aga Funny !! Daddy no funny !! Daddy silly !!
So, there you have it. Intelligence or mischief ?

Aga wants food...
Typical day, Aga just woke up from his afternoon nap, and I have given him a glass of milk and he had just finished it.
Aga: Aga mau yoghurt. (Aga wants yoghurt)
Me: But you're having cough. Cannot have yoghurt, Aga. Sorry.
Aga: Jadi Aga mau mamam apa? (So what will Aga want to eat?)
Me: What about.... cheese?
Aga: *smiles, eyes light up* Yes yes. Aga wants cheese! Aga wants BLUE cheese!
Me: Okay...
Then both of us drifted to the fridge. I picked up the cheese with blue covering.
His eyes became bigger and smile wider when I gave it to him.
Aga: Oh.... mommy... Thank you. You're welcome.
You should see it. It's one of the cutest thing. He's very formal and appreciative when people give him food.
After he finished one cheese (remember he also had just have a glass of milk before that).
Aga: Aga mau yoghurt.
Me: Cough Aga. No yoghurt.
Aga: Jadi Aga mau mamam apa?
Me: I don't know.
Aga: Cheese. Aga wants BLUE cheese!!!
So I gave him another one. A different cheese, smaller one.
Aga: Oh... mommy... Thank you. You're welcome.
When he finished with that...
Aga: Aga mau yoghurt.
Me: No Aga. You just had TWO CHEESE.
Aga: Jadi Aga mau mamam apa?
*Seriously? Is he still hungry after all that?*
Me: Wait, it will be your dinner time soon. Okay?
Aga: Okay.
A few minutes later:
Aga: Aga wants cheese.... Aga wants BLUE CHEESE!!!
Aga: Aga mau yoghurt. (Aga wants yoghurt)
Me: But you're having cough. Cannot have yoghurt, Aga. Sorry.

Lila at 5 months old
She's the rolling master now. She can stop and balance herself in between rolling too. She rests her head on her hand sometimes when she's on her tummy as you can see in the video. Her favourite song of all time at the moment is "Bangun Tidur" (I sang that in video, don't puke blood, it's a warning :p).
The lyric goes:
Bangun tidur ku terus mandi
Tidak lupa menggosok gigi
Habis mandi ku tolong ibu
Membersihkan tempat tidurku
Loose translation to English by me:
Waking up then I take a shower
Not forgetting to brush my teeth
After shower I help mommy
Tidy up my bed
Nothing special about the song, right? Not for Lila. Everytime she hears that song, she will smile. It's a 100% probability. She can go from high-pitched crying to all smiles just by hearing that song. It's the ONLY song that would work in severe crying situations. Hence if you hear me singing that song over and over, it's not because I'm so fond of that song. No. It's the only way to keep her from crying when we're still in the car and she wants milk.
Aga would insert appropriate rapping after each line (yes, rapping - taught by my dad. Yes, my dad! Rapping! >.<):
Bangun tidur ku terus mandi - pakai sabun
Tidak lupa menggosok gigi - pakai odol
Habis mandi ku tolong ibu - mommy!!! (this one he did himself)
Membersihkan tempat tidurku - bekas ompol!
Which means:
Waking up then I take a shower - using soap
Not forgetting to brush my teeth - using toothpaste
After shower I help mommy - (ibu = mommy; so he knows - he calls me 'mommy', not 'ibu')
Tidy up my bed - smell the pee!
I just introduced solid to her at 5 months and 1 week, because:
1. She started to wake up 3 times in the night. This is from not waking up at all for the last 4 months, so I'm quite annoyed. For some reason although it's only 1 spoon of baby cereal a day, she seemed to be settled for a couple of nights now, so that seemed to fix the problem.
2. The doctor suggested to start solid at 5 months.
3. She has this munching action nowadays even when she's not hungry. It's one of the cutest thing, and probably her tooth is coming out soon? (I'm excited).
The house is full of flu bug at the moment. Agastya got it first, then spread it to me. I hope it stops with me. I hate having flu since my nose will be stuffed, my throat will hurt like hell, and I can't sleep at night (think what Aga must feel!), and I can't take medicine because I'm still breastfeeding!! I hope it goes away soon. *ha-choo*
Thanks for those who congratulate me on my birthday be it by sms, instant messenger or email. Aga did too.
[And now he occasionally would sing:
Hapi baday to you...
Hapi baday to you...
Hapi baday to Aga
Hapi baday to you.. horrayyy!!!
*while holding one of his mega blocks*]
I had crayfish noodle (expensive thing, but my god it was good. Excellento. Thanks Nagi *smooch*), Sioe came and ate dinner with me. She brought cake with her. Yum. Thanks Sioe :D Oh, she got hooked with the crayfish noodle, she decided she MUST take her parents with her to have some! In fact, right now, yes, she's hunting crayfish noodle place. Ha ha.
Nagi has stopped his Indonesian class, to which his reason was "Saya sudah ahli asli" Ha ha. Nuff said!
I know you all are just interested to see the video. Here it is. Enjoy.
